Dripping Water

"Trickle, trickle, trickle" is the noise of running water that many property owners select to overlook. Yet what begins as the casual trickle may almost immediately worsen into a full scale water leak with expensive complications. A water dribble is caused by hard use and abuse of plumbing fixtures. Leaky faucets or runny showerheads are common water issues in the property.

Leaky Faucets or Showerheads

Repairing drippy faucets or showerheads will terminate the irritating "trickle, trickle, trickle" sound and reduce water wastage. Disconnecting a tap pushes the washer firmly against the faucet seat and produces a waterproof plug that keeps back inflowing water from leaking out of the tap. Worn out seats or washers will not be capable of creating this impervious seal. Consequently beads of water pour out and drip down the drain. Replacing or amending tattered tap elements will presumably rectify the issue.

To Fix a Drippy Faucet:
1. Shut water-supply to the drippy faucet.
2. Change old washer with a new, equivalent part.
3. Turn water-supply back on and test again for drips.

Should you not have the correct gear it is best to ring plumber Long Island to repair the drippy faucet on your behalf.

To Repair a Leaking Showerhead:
1. Close water-availability to a leaking showerhead.
2. Employ a wrench to unbolt the showerhead.
3. Remove and inspect the rubber gasket inside the shower head. If it marks your hands with black sediment, replace the gasket brand-new.
4. Decide on the right sized o-ring and replace. Push the new ring flat inside showerhead.
5. Secure showerhead in place. Open water-availability and test for leaks.
6. Try fastening the showerhead should the leaking issue continue. Call plumber Long Island to repair the fault if the showerhead still leaks.
