Water Heating & Cooling Systems
Few things are more frustrating than having no hot water when you long for a steamy shower on a cold winter day. It is equally annoying to get a rush of hot water when all you are after is a cold drink.
Supply lines make sure hot and cold water reach all the fixtures in your house but an interesting thing to examine is how hot and cold are separated within your home plumbing system.
Supplying Cold Water
Water goes into your residence straight from your municipal water system through a high-pressure pipe. They are then led to the different plumbing appliances in your house. Toilets, for example, use considerable amounts of cold water.
Also, filters are good addition to your water supply system being that cold water are by and large intended for drinking.
The Water Heater
Your water heater is responsible for heating water and keeping them warm. Heaters can work on either gas or electricity and consist of a weighty interior steel tank with the ability to hold up to 60 gallons of water. Cold water from the main water supply enters the tank via a pipe carrying cold water from the main water supply.
Inside the tank there are electric heating features that slowly start heating the water. In home water heaters the recommended temperatures vary between 120 to 140 degrees F (49 to 60 C). You have complete control over the water temperature due to the thermostat.
Heated water is led to the various plumbing fixtures through pipes coming out of the heater. A control device situated at the bottom of the heater drains the water from the tank.
